Perry Harovas Named Chair of Computer Animation
Perry Harovas has over 16 years experience in CG animation, visual effects, film, television and games.
He has created visual effects for six feature films, directed 2 half-hour animated children's shows which aired in 31 million households, co-authored the best-selling 848 page book "Mastering Maya" which was the first book released about the animation program Maya, and was translated into languages worldwide.
Perry has run animation and visual effects studios over the years, and was responsible for bringing digital effects and CG animation to legendary film producer and director Roger Corman's films, starting as far back as 1995.
Perry also speaks regularly on the subjects of animation and visual effects across the world, primarily at colleges and universities such as New York University (NYU), Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Emerson College and Truemax Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Perry is also an accomplished producer of film projects, both long-form and short films. "The Drifter", a short film he produced in 2005 won a coveted spot in the New York City Horror Film Festival, and garnered an honorable mention award.
Perry also sold a screenplay to Republic Pictures, the famed Hollywood production studio famous for many of the serial cliffhangers from the past, and sold to Paramount Pictures a few years ago.
